Most impact reports describe what an organisation has done. The best ones do far more — they build trust, strengthen corporate partnerships or funding applications, evidence your good work, and make a clear case for what’s possible next.
That’s the difference between a good impact report and an extraordinary one.
Whether we’re producing your first report or rebuilding one that hasn’t quite landed, the work starts with the same question:
what could your impact report actually do?
Often, impact reports get written once, and quietly forgotten.
The ones that don’t are different by design. Clearer about who they’re for. Sharper about what they say. Built with intention across the year, not rushed in at the end.
That’s the kind of impact report I help you create.
I’m not a copywriter. I’m your strategic partner
You bring the evidence and the voice. I bring the structure, the audience perspective, the creative direction, and the strategic questions that you’re too close to ask.
“Working with Sea of Purpose on our 2024 and 2025 Impact Reports has been a game-changer for us. Sarah has helped us clarify our message, present our data far more effectively, and capture the heart of Sea-Changers’ work in a clear, engaging way.”
Helen Webb & Rachel Lopata, Co-Founders, Sea-Changers
Impact reports do different things for different organisations
For charities and CICs, they grow funder confidence, strengthen grant applications, deepen donor trust and evidence the work behind the mission. They’re also a powerful internal tool — helping small teams clarify what’s working and where to focus next.
For purpose-led businesses, they back up claims, support certification and third-party audit, attract talent, and turn values into verifiable performance.
The strategic partnership is the same. The lens shifts to fit who you are and who’s reading.
What we’ll do:
- Define the audiences your report needs to reach — funders, partners, community, regulators
- Build an editorial framework that holds the year’s evidence
- Capture stories, stats and voices in real time, not in a year-end scramble
- Translate impact data into a clear, engaging narrative
- Brief or partner with a recommended designer to bring your report to life
- Design a roll-out plan so the report keeps working for you long after launch
How we’ll work
We work in strategic phases throughout the year, not in a year-end sprint. Quarterly working sessions give us time to gather evidence as it happens, shape the narrative as the year unfolds, and arrive at a finished report without the panic.
A year-long rhythm
- Discovery — strategic intent, audiences, the ask, evidence baseline
- Q1 Foundations — content map, narrative spine, what to capture in real time
- Q2 Mid-year gather — stories, stats, voices. First structural draft
- Q3 Editorial development — full draft, design brief, audience-specific framing
- Q4 Production and launch — final copy, sign-off, amplification plan
Steady, paced, realistically resourced. Less burden on you and your team. Better evidence in the report.
Ways to work
Most clients begin with Foundation and continue into Annual Partnership the following year. Each report builds on the last — the work gets lighter, and your impact has space to grow.
Discovery — from £950.00
A standalone offer, or an entry point into a full engagement.
What’s included:
Half day working session to develop your impact report playbook: audience map, narrative spine, evidence baseline, quarterly content schedule
Ready to self-deliver or roll into a full service engagement.
Foundation Report — from £4,500.00
For organisations producing a first impact report, or rebuilding from scratch.
A first report is the heaviest lift, and the most important. It’s where your audiences are defined, evidence frameworks get built, brand and visual direction get scoped, and the reporting rhythm is set. Everything that comes after, is built on this foundation.
What’s included:
- *Four quarterly working sessions
- Audience and brand scoping
- Strategic content development
- Design liaison and creative direction
- Designer brief or design partner introduction (design fees are not included)
- 8 to 16 page final impact report.
*All sessions are invoiced on contract.
Amplify your impact (bolt-on)
Most reports work hardest in the first 90 days after launch. Amplify Your Impact makes sure they do.
- Lite — £950. A 90-day amplification plan, content calendar, key messages by audience. You manage delivery.
- Full — £2,500. Amplification plan plus strategic assets — social posts, web copy, email sequence, repurposing schedule, live launch consultation.
